The Eye Hospital was built
by subscription to com–
memorate the Jubilee of Her
late Majesty Queen Victoria;
it is under the administration
ot the Goverament, but owing
to the want of a female ward in
the general Hospital the beds
are used for female' patients.
The Hospital was founded and
is supported by voluntary
effort, and aided by Govt.
contribution of £50 a year,
medical attendance, drugs, &c.
The Munic-ipalitv gives an
annual subscription of £12.
The Hospital is managed by a
Committee on which tne Com–
missionerand District Medical
Officer have seats. The ser–
vices ofthe District Medical
Officer and of a Compounder,
together w-ith medicines, are
supplied gratis by the Govern–
ment and the Hospital receives
a grant of money from Go–
vernment.
