IMPORT DUTY.
D R A W B A C K OK IMPORT DUTV.
Persons who pay import duty ou guns brought with them to Cyprus for Sporting purposes
are entitled to have three-fourths of the amount refunded ac the Custom House, Larnaca, in the
event of their taking the guns out of the Island within 5 years on production of the documents
referred to in Sec. 2 («) and (J) of Order in Council Xo. 19, Gazette 77 of 19th October, 1381.
. Wheu any Import Duty shall have been paid in respect of any wine, spirits, malt liquors.
tobacco, cigars, or articles of food supplied for the use of any mess on board any of His
Majesty's ships of war. a drawback of the amouut of the duty so" paid may be allowed, or if
such goods are shipped from the Customs store before payment of duty, the amount of such
duty mav be remitted on the production of a certificate from the proper officer of Customs
that such goods have been actually shipped on board one of His Majesty's ships, a receipt
from the Paymaster of such ship for the gooils and a wricten undertaking from che Paymaster
or other proper officer of such ship that if such goods or any part thereof shall be at any time
re-landed, the duty shall be paid thereon.
In lieu of drawback of import duty paid in respect of any wine, spirits, malt liquors
tobacco, cigars or articles of food imported aud subsequently actually consumed or used by
His Majesty's Land Forces, fixed money allowances are paid' oue of 'the Island Treasury to
the Officers and Soldiers of His Majesty'3 Land Forces quartered wichin the Island.
The amount of ducy paid on any article which may be subseqnencly sapplied to the High
Commissioner shall be refunded out of the Treasury on* the order of the High Commissioner, (ft)

The following are the Prohibitions and Restrictions on Imports and Exports :—
IMPORTS.
GOATS.—Importation prohibited, save nnder permit of High Commissioner, L a w 10 of 1S88.

EGOS.—Importation prohibited, sec. 8 and 9, Law 11 of 1831.

TOBACCO.—Importation prohibited, excepc under permic from High Commissioner, if in packages
weiehing less than 20 okes each and by ships of less than 60 tons burden, sec. 26, Law
2-4 of 1879. (c)
(a) Future High Commissioners not to be entitled to drawback of Import duty.
(*») This rate also applies to ground caroubs. if without intermixture of any other substance, and in the
-case of caroubs in a manufactured state mixed with other substance, or any substance in which caroubs
constitute a component part, the charge is made in proportion to the quantity of caroubs contained in the
