The Town Schools are not under the Education Law but
receive Government Grant..
The Village Schools prescribed under the Education Law
are supported by assessment and Government Grant.
Private Schools are chiefly small Village Schools not yet
under the Education Law and supported by the
Voluntary Contributions of the Parents.
Moslem Schools.—Under Voluntary Contributions are
included £241 alleged to be granted by the Constan–
tinople Education Authorities for the maintenance of
13 Special Schools included nnder Private Schools.
This amount may only be accepted with reservation.
£156 paid by Evkaf or Municipality Funds, and £12
paid by Hamid Bey towards the School at Larnaca.
No Voluntary Contributions from the rest of the
Moslem Community.
Greek-Christian Schools.—Under Voluntary Contributions.
The sum £1.863 represents School Fees, and Voluntary
Contributions from Church Funds or private subscriptions
to the Town Elementary Schools.
NOTE.
The average daily attendance in Moslem Elementary
Schools was 3.214.
And in Greek-Christian Schools 16,654. Attendances
of Boys and Girls have not been separately recorded.

control of the Goverament.
The Cyprus Gymnasium is managed by a C o m –
mittee, but receives a grant from the Govern–
ment as a Training School for Masters.
T h e High Schools at Laraaca, Limassoi, Fama–
gusta and Papho are not aided by the
Governmeut.
This is a Private School on the lines of an
English G r a m m a r School. T b e language of
instruction is English, but Turkish, Greek and
French aud Arabic are also taught, and boys
of all races are received.
