EXEMPTION'S.
Articles shipped by the High Commissioner, by the Government of Cyprus, or for the
Army or Navy, Personal Baggage, Empty Sacks, Casks or Packages (not including Jars or
Demijohns), Straw Mats for dunnage, bona fide Stores and provisions for ships in port in
reasonable quantities, Specie, Cereals, unenumerated Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Raisins,
Beans and Pea3, Cheese, Cotton, Cotton seed and Cottou goods, Gypsum, Terra Umbra,
Vinegar, Wines and Spirits.
By section 9 of "'The Port Charges Law. 1901," stores and equipment for vessels of war
and for yachts used solely for purposes of pleasure are exempt from the payment of Port
Charges.
The foregoing charges may be compounded, iu the case of Sailing Vessels only, by
payment in advance of Is. per ton register, for every half year. i.e., any period between lst
January and 30th June or between lst July aud 31st December.
In respect of the Steamer subsidized for the Coasring Trado the above rates do not apply.
