RKMAIIKS
The Town Schools are not under the Education Lav/ but
receive Government Grant.
The Village Schools prescribed under the Education Law
are supported by assessment aud Government Grant.
Private Schools are chiefly small Village Schools not yet
under the Education Law and supported by the
Voluntary Contributions of the Parents.
Moslem Schools.—Under Voluntary Contributions are
included £212 the salaries said to be given to the
Teachers of the Private Schools, and £241 alleged to be
granted by the Constantinople Education Authorities for
ths maintenance of 13 Special Schools included under
Private Schools. These amounts may only be accepted
with reservation. £151 paid by Evkaf or Municipality
Funds, and £12 paid by Hamid" Bey towards the School
at Larnaca. The balance £10 represents the whole of
the Voluntary Contributions from the rest of the
Moslem Community.
Greek-Christian Schools.—Under Voluntary Contributions
are included £350, salaries given to the Teachers of the
Private Schools. The balance £1.3?'J represents School
Fees, and Voluntary Contributions from Church Funds
or private subscriptions to the Town Elementary Schools.

«J Evkaf. This school is under the direct control
( of the Government.
f The Cyprus Gymnasium is managed by a Com-
< niittee, but receives a grant from the Govern-
( meat as a Training School for blasters.

( Government.
, This is a Private School ou the Hues of au
\ English Grammar School. The lauguage of
< instruction is English, but Turkish, Greek and
/ French are also taught, and boys of all races
( are received.
