SPECIFICATION OF TAXES, DUTIES, &C.
EXEMPTIONS.
Articles shipped by the High Commissioner, by the Government of Cypru3, or for the
Army or Navy, Personal Baggage, Empty Sacks, Casks or Packages (not including Jars or
Demijohus), Straw Mats for dunnage, bona Jide Stores and provisions for ships in port in
reasonable quantities, Specie, Cereals, uuenumeratcd Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Raisins,
Beans and Peas, Cheese, Cotton, Cotton seed aud Cotton goods, Gypsum, Terra Umbra,
Vinegar, Wines and Spirits.
By section 9 of "The Port Charges Law, 1901," stores and equipment for vessels of war
and for yachts used solely for purposes of pleasure are exempt from the payment of Port
Charges.
The foregoing charges may be compounded, in the case of Sailing Vessels ouly, by
payment in advance of ls. per ton register, for every half year, i.e.', any period between lst
January and 30th June or between 1st July anl 31st December.
In respect of the Steamer subsidized for the Coasting Trade the above rates do not apply.

Men-of-war and ships driven iuto port under stress of weather are exempted from the above

Dues charged on vessels ichich have come to Cyprus solely for the purpose of \

And in addition to the above or any quarantine dues, the following dues are charged on
vessels which, in the opinion of the Chief Medical Omcer or the Cbief Port Authority, have
come to Cyprus solely for the purpose of performing quarantine:—
