ECCLESIASTICAL.
There is one Anglican Church, St. Paul's, in Nicosia. According to the Census of
1901 there were 365 Members of the Church of England throughout the Island.
At Larnaca there is a Roman Catholic Convent of the Order of St. Joseph, and a
Church and Convent in Nicosia belonging to the Order of St. Francis. According to
the Census of 1901 there were 824 Members of the Roman Catholic Church throughout
the Island.
Of the Maronite faith there are eight Churches and four Monasteries. According to
the Census of 1901 there were 1,130 Members of the Maronite Church throughout the
Island.
.' Ofthe Greek Orthodox Church there"are in all 607 Churches of which—
195 are in the District of Nicosia. . . 9 3 are in the District of Famagusta.

1901 there were 182,739 Members of the Greek Orthodox Church throughout the Island.
The Armenian Religion has one Church, situate in Nicosia, and also a Monastery,
including a Chapel in the Kyrenia District. "According to the Census of 1901 there were
517 Members of the Armenian Church throughout the Island.
Of Mussulman religious institutions there are iu the Island:—
200 Mosques and Mesjids or small Mosques (without a minaret).
15 Tekyehs or Convents* or Chapds of Dervishes, and
8 Medressehs or seminaries.
