LOCUST TAX. (°)
(To provide money for the destruction of Locusts.)
A . — F o r and in respect of all titheabie produce one per cent, on the value of snch
produce over and above the ordinary tithe.
B . — F o r and in respect of all houses, shups and other buildings yearly the following
sums, that is to say : —
( A ) . F o r houses, shops and other buildings the verghi of which is charged on
their estimated value (verghi kimat), one thousandth part on such
estimated value.
ib). For houses, shops and other buildings the verghi of which is charged on
their estimated aunual value (verghi irad), one per cent, of 3iich
estimated annual value.
D . — F o r and in respect of every annuity, pension or stipend payable out of the public
revenue of this Island, yearly, one per cent, on all incomes derived from any of these
sources, amountim**; to £ 2 0 0 a vear or more.
E . — F o r and in respect of every sheep and goat yearly the s u m of 1.5 paras.
