SPECIFICATION OB* TAXES, DUTIES, &C,
FEES UNDER THE WRECKS LAW, 1836:
ACTHORITT
For wreck taken by the Eeceiver into his custody a commission of five pounds per
hundred pounds on the value thereof, but so that the whole amouut of percentage shall
not exceed the sum of tweuty pounds in auy case.
In the case of derelict delivered into the custody of thu Receiver there shall be
charged the following fees instead of percentage, viz.:—
If the value of the ship or boat with her cargo equals or exceeds £600, two
grands for thefirstday, and one pouud for every subsequent day duriug which the
eceiver is employed on this service.
If the value of the ship or boat with her cargo is less than £600, half the above
charges.
But if the amount reckoned accordiug to this Rule exceeds a percentage of five
per cent., cue latter rate i3 to be charged.
In cases where auy services are rendered by a Receiver iu respect of any ship or boat
in distress, nut beimj wreck, or in respect of the cargo or articles belonging thereto, the
following fees shall be charged, viz. :—
If the value of the ship with her cargo equals or exceeds £600, two pounds for
thefirstday, and one pound for every subsequent day the Receiver is einpioved in
the service.
If the value of the ship with her cargo is less than £600, half the above charges.
To a vainer appointed under Section 24 of the " Wrecks Law, 18S6," tnere shall be
paid fees not exceeding the following, viz.:—
Where the vessel only has to be valued, if the value does not exceed *s »• «-?.

There shall also be charged by the Receiver in respect of such valuation

In cases where the Receiver finds it necessai-y to employ a valuer to
• determine the value of any property in his custodv, there shall he
paid to the person employed to value such propertv a fee not
exceeding the following

But when the value of the property exceeds £100 there mav be paid such sum not
exceeding £1, as may be considered reasonable according to the special circumstance's of
the case.
