Government House- Nicosia-
is a sinde-sforied structure
of wood Surrounded by a
verandah, with detached
Kitchen, L a m p R o o m and
Fuel Stores of masonry.
It occupies three sides of a
square in the centre of
which is a concrete lawn-
tennis court. •
i There is a separate small
j stone building containing
| two rooms occupied by the
j Private Secretary and
| Aide-de-Camp.
| There is a range of bnildiugs
j near the stables contain–
ing 5 quarters suitable for
grooms and servants.
There is stabling for 20
horses, coach-house and
harness-room. Water is
procured from wells and
conveyed to the house by
water-carriers who are
paid by the Government.
A labourer is also paid by
the Government to attend
on the earth closets and
remove rubbish
