SHIPPING DUES.
On everv vessel arriving iu any port of Cyprus, -A consolidated charge in lieu of Port
Health and Light Dues of 2e.p. for every ton of registered tonnage, with the following
exceptions :—
On everv vessel of over one thousand tons of registered tonnage :
For every ton up to 1,000 tons ... ... ... ... 2c.p.
For every ton over 1,000 tous ... ... ... ... lc.p.
On every vessel passing coastwise :
For every ton up to 1,000 tous
... ... ... 1-^c.p.
For every ton over 1,000 tons

On every vessel arriving from foreign ports in ballast and sailing without having

Vessels arriving with empty ban-els or cases are, under tlie conditions prescribed

Vessels of war ; Transports in H e r Majesty's service (but with this proviso, that
do not import goods, other than goods and stores for Her Majesty's service, without the
consent of the proper authority of the Admiralty: if they import such goods with the
consent of the proper.authority of the Admiralty,"the person importing such goods shall
pay 1/- per ton of goods or 5/- if the goods are less than 5 tons) ; Vessels hired or chartered
by Her Majesty's Government for the conveyance of troops or stores for H e r Majesty's
service and living the Admiralty transport iiag ; Yachts belonging to recognised"yacht
clubs and whohy in lallast ; Vessels which having entered a port uuder stress of weather
or for obtaining provisions or water shah leave it without having effected any commercial
transaction ; and Steam Tugs employed solely in towing and not having goods or passengers
oard.
Vessels which have entered a port for the purpose of embarking or disembarking mails
or passengers or of loading or discharging cargo and which are prevented through stress
of weather, or quarantine restrictions, from loading or discharging any cargo.
Coasting Steamers that have paid Port Dues at two ports are exempt from further j
payment for one month, and Sidling -Ships, in the same circumstances, for two months, |
unless iu th; meantime they visit a Foreign Port. Ships that have paid Port Dues ) Law No. X. of 1S97.
