Uniforms of Public Officers and professional ro7es of Legal or Judicial Officers in
the employment of Her Majesty's Goverum -ur, provided that -Melt uniforms or robes are
introduced for the personal use only of such officers, and have been duly authorized.
Fire-arms for the personal use of Officers of Her Majesty's S'aval and Military
Forces.
Paving stones imported by Municipal Councils in the Islaud to be used for the
paving of streets within the Municipal limits, aud duly certified as so imported by the
President and Cashier of any Mur.ic;- :d Council.

Microscopes and all microscopical aud other apparatus or appliances for purposes
of investigation and scientific research.
Gymnastic apparatus, mathematical and generally all other instruments used in
schools tor educational purposes, which are imported for the use of schools.
Agricultural implements, atlases and maps, anchors and chains (ships'), bark,
boats, charcoal, church furniture, aud articles which are only to be used in tlie building
audfittingup of churches and mosques aud vestmeuts a::d other articles necessarily used
for religious services, coals, empty casks aud sacks, freshfish,gold bulltou and specie, ice,
lime, medicines and medical appliauces, pitch and tar, priuted books, resiu, sawdust, silk–
worms' egg*, sponges taken by licensed boats, stationery, printing paper, sulphur,
wheat, barley, oats, vetches, flour, chopped straw, cotto:i seed, fodder for cattle;
and the following articles for use in the manufacture and examination of wine,
viz. : grape and raisin crushers, separators, wine presses, wine pumps, winefilters,gauging
rods, testing srills, hydrometers, sacehnrometers, gypsomerers, musfimeters, acetiuieters,
ebullioscopes, sulphur syrinjres. and the following articles of machinery:—
Machinery for carding, spinning, weaving and finishing the manufacture of fibrous
material, aud cards for such machinery, machinery for telegraphic purposes, printing
machines aud presses, type and type machinery, type writers, sewing machines, knitting
machines, locomotive engines, *:».ilway plant, machinery for steamboats, mills and foundries,
steam boilers and engines of every description, steam boilerplates aud tube.-, grating bars,
tile and bri^k making machiuery, machinery to be used in the cutting and manufacture of
tobacco, punching, shearing, plate bending, plate cutting, ri vetting, drilling, boring, planing,
shaping,slotting, screw making, sawing, teuoning, mortising, moulding, rebating, tougueiug
and grooving machines, lathes, file cutting, engraving, bolt making,rivetmaking, nwd
washer making machines, machinery to be employed in the manufacture of ice, machinery
for tbe manufacture of mineral waters, diving apparatus, weighing machines, pumps and
other apparatus for raising water, wiuuowiug, threshing, corn mills and flour dressiug
machinery, grain separators, oil presses, hydraulic, lever, screw or cam presses, cranes,
derricks, cral>-wiucbes, screw and other jacks.
All the machinery above stated, either whole or iu parts, as also their fittings,

Dutiable articles that have previously beeu exported from Cyprus, provided the
re-imported not later than oue year after exportation.

Hospital appliances or equipment, certified under the hand of the Chief Medical
Officer to be imported for the u:-e of any Hospital.
DRAWBACK OF IMPORT DUTY.
Wheu auy Import Duty shall have beeu paid in respect of auv wine, spirits, malt
liquors, tobacco, cigars, or articles of food supplied for the use of anv mess on
board auy of Her .Majesty's ships of war, a drawback of the amount of the dutv so paid
may be allowed, or if such goods are shipped from the Customs store before payment of
duty, the amount of such duty may be remitted on the production of a certificate from
the proper officer of Customs that such jjoods have been actually shipped on board one of
Her Majesty's ships, a receipt from the Paymaster of such ship for the goods and a
writteu under:a!-:ing from the Paymaster or other proper officer of such ship that if such
goods or any part thereof shall be at auy time re-landed, the duty shall be paid thereon.
