LOCUST TAX. .
(To provide money for the destruction of Locusts.)
A.—For and in respect of all titheable produce yearly one per cent, on the value
of sueb produce over nnd above the ordinary titbe.
Note.—Bee-hives excepted by Proclamation of the High Coir missioner in Council of 23th
September, 1893. published in Gazette N o . -120 of 29th September, 1803.
B.—For and in respect of all houses, shops and other buildings yearly the following I
sums, that is to say : —
(a). For houses, shops and other buildings the verghi of which is charged on
their estimated value (verghi kimat), one thousandth part ou such
estimated value.
(fc). For houses, shops and other buildings the verghi of which is charged on
their estimated annual value (verghi ir.id), one per cent, of such
' estimated annual value.
D.—For and in respect of every annuity, pension or stipend payable out of the public
revenue or this Island, yearly, one per cent, on all incomes derived from any of these
sources, amounting to £ 2 0 0 a year or more.
E . — F o r and in respect of every sheep and goat yearly the sum of 15 paras.
