Service cf ilocuments :—
£ s. c.p.
For service in Cyprus of any document required to be served
through the Court such fee as shall be properly payable to the
police tor that purpose, and on payment of such lee to the proper
officer of p-ilico, the document will be served in the .-aiue manner
as though it were forwarded for service by an officer of the Court.
The fees appointed to be taken by the Police are as follows (a):—
For the service of any docum-eut served within a distance of
three miles of the Court of the District
For every additional three miles or portion thereof -
But so that the maximum fee charged shall not in any case
exceed the sum of
Notice in lieu of Summons :—
"Where the Court or Judge shall order that notice of the writ
of summons may be given by the advertisement thereof and of
the orJer directing tlio advertisement in the Cyprus Gazette, the
following charge is made by the Chief Secretary :—
For an advertisement not occupying more space than one
column of the Gazette . . . . .
For every quarter column or portion thereof beyond
For the service out of Cyprus of auy document required to be
served through the Court such sum as shall be actually expended
in effecting such service and procuring evidence thereof. A n y
Judge or the Kegistrar of the Court may,on application being made
for such service to be effected, require the applicant to deposit in
Court such sum as m a y be estimated to be necessary for defraying
the expenses of such service aad the procuring of evidence thereof.
In any proceeding not provided for in the above scale, in respect
whereof a fee has been heretofore chargeable, the same fee shall
continue to be taken as heretofore. A n y such fee where expressed
in the currency of the Ottoman Empire to be reckoned at the rate
of l£ Cyprus piastres for a piastre and 30 Cyprus piastres for a
medjid, and where expressed in British currency to be reckoned
at the rate of 1-J Cyprus piastres for every two pence.
B.—IN ADMIRALTY ACTIONS BEFORE THE SUPREME COURT.
On sealing a writ of summons in any action:
Where the amount claimed is £20 or under ...
Where the amount claimed exceeds £20:
Where no liquidated sum is claimed or where the
recovery of m o n e y is not the object of the action...
